1. Introduction

Welcome to Vienna Toy Library (“the Library”). By creating an account, you agree to abide by the rules and guidelines outlined herein to ensure a smooth operation and a positive experience for all members.

2. Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals aged 18 and above.

3. Deposit Requirement

  • A deposit of €30 is required upon registration.
  • The deposit is used to cover the replacement costs of toys in case a member fails to return them.
  • If the membership is in good standing and toys are returned in good condition, the deposit will be returned to the member upon cancellation of their membership.

4. Borrowing Guidelines

  • Members may borrow between 2 to 6 toys at a time, depending on their type of membership.
  • Borrowing periods are unlimited, you can keep toys as long as you’d like, as long as you have an active subscription.
  • Toys must be returned in the same condition as borrowed.

5. Reservations

  • Toys are reserved in advance through the Library’s website.

6. Responsibility and Liability

  • Members are responsible for all toys borrowed on their account until they are returned and checked in by Library staff.
  • Members may be liable for repair costs or replacement value of damaged or lost toys.
  • The Library is not responsible for any injury, harm, or damages caused by the use of borrowed toys.

7. Supervision of Children

  • Members are responsible for supervising their children at all times when playing with toys borrowed from the Library.
  • The Library is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from the use of borrowed toys. Members assume full responsibility for ensuring the safe use of the toys.

8. Code of Conduct

  • Treat all toys, Library staff, and fellow members with respect.
  • Toys are to be used solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Failure to adhere to Library policies may result in membership suspension or termination.

9. Loss/Damage of Toys

  • Minor Damage: Don’t worry about it. As parents ourselves, we understand that sometimes minor damages happen.
  • Major Damage or Missing Pieces: If a toy is significantly damaged or has missing critical parts, the member may be charged for a partial replacement fee.
  • Complete Loss: A replacement price may be requested or deducted from the deposit.

10. Privacy

  • Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for Library purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.

11. Termination

  • Membership may be terminated by the Library for breaches of this agreement or at the discretion of Library management.
  • Members may cancel their membership at any time but are not entitled to a refund of fees.

12. Amendments

  • The Library reserves the right to update or amend this agreement at any time. Members will be notified of changes through e-mail.

13. Agreement

By signing up for a membership, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
